Strathlachlan Lodge

In the heart of Argyll, one of the most picturesque parts of the West Highlands surrounded by mountains and forest, nestling on the side of Loch Fyne, Strathlachan is a tiny hamlet of five cottages reached by a single track road. If you are looking for a holiday location that has fabulous rustic accommodation, set amongst spectacular Scottish scenery, in a tranquil and stress free setting but still close to amenities, Strathlachlan Lodge is the perfect hideaway and one of the very few places that really will match your expectations of how a holiday in Scotland should really be.


The Full Story

We bought Strathlachlan Lodge five years ago and have since then completely refurbished the property and have furnished it in a comfortable country style with quality fittings throught and the entire property is wood lined internally and painted with Farrow and Ball traditional paints creating a very comforting enviroment for our family use.

Unique Scenery

With diverse scenery from mountains, glens, and ancient woodlands to fresh water and sea lochs there is a wide range of sporting and leisure pastimes which can be enjoyed in this area. If a more relaxing pace is desired just touring around enjoying the dramatic and unique scenery is a great way to experience this area with a huge number of places to visit from small villages to castles and a wide selection of pubs cafes and restaurants where fresh local produce can be enjoyed. For day trips within easy reach are Loch Lomond,Oban Glen Coe and Fort William. Closer are Inverary and Tignabruigh.

Beautiful Location

This part of the west coast has an abundance of lochs both sea and fresh water for fishing ,sailing and boating, rivers for canoeists and hills and mountains for walkers and climbers.Golfers are spoiled for choice with many courses within easy reach.If you prefer closer to home there are mountain bikes at the lodge and you could take an easy 10/15min cycle along to Invercottage restaurant for lunch or dinner or go round to Newton an old and very pretty tiny fishing village where private boat hire can be arranged if you just have to get out on the water!There is also a great deal of wild life to see around the Lodge from red deer, grouse,Pheasant and different hawks including eagles If all of that sounds too active just relax on the deck or in the large gardens during the day and soak up the scenery and atmosphere and by log fire in the evening and just enjoy the magic of a very special place that will rejuvenate and restore a sense of balance and perspective.
